Sony 3D – How 3D LCD Active Shutter Technology Works

This video describes the basics behind 3D technology, looking at the content, the home technology and the distribution of 3D movies, sports & video games. It’s a look forward at the promise and challenge of 3D in the home. Along the way we’ll learn why we are going with Active Shutter instead of Passive Glasses or Lenticular Lens 3D without glasses.

    @SonyConvergineer Israeli company made 3d possible without glasses,When u will do it,further more frame update for ps3 will able it to play 3d?THANKS & PLEASE REPLY

    Is sony going to develope a 3D USB transmitter for the Playstation 3 to us shutter glasses so it can work on all TVs or does a lot of it really depend on the frame and refresh rate on the TV?

    I wear prescription glasses a lot of the time and they fit nicely inside the 3D glasses. That is why they are so wide at the front, to accommodate regular glasses.

    this is very exciting i cant wait for it. but my problem is…. i wear prescription glasses already.. am i gonna have to wear glasses on top of mine.. or they will have stereoscopic prescribed glasses that will cost an arm and a leg??

    This looks fantastic! Im really looking forward to being able to play games such as motorstorm in 3D!
